Answering Service


Now that most people have voice mail on their mobile phones, and most homes have answering machines, the answering service is not as popular as it once was. However, there may be some really great reasons to have such a service, but it does depend on who you are and why you may need help with your phone calls. For some, it is a matter of convenience, and for others, it can become a timesaver. For me, I think it would be a matter of both, but its not something I can afford to pay extra for at the moment, and I can’t justify the costs. Maybe some day I will need one, but until then, I guess people will just have to continue to leave a message after the beep.

Some of the more recent types of answering service is something that works much like an answering machine and is fully automated. Most don’t feel the need to have this unless they get a lot of calls that they know can wait until later. There are still some that have real people answering the phones, and if you want that, you probably have a lot of pressing business that you can’t keep up with on your own.

Probably the best benefit of having an answering service that is answered by real people is that those people can decide if a call is urgent and they can alert you that you have a message that needs immediate attention. These are very helpful for doctors and lawyers, and those who may need to be aware of immediate changes and industry related emergencies. Those who may not deal with emergency situations, but just have too much going on, can benefit from such an arrangement as well.

Some people choose to have an answering service when they first start out with a new business. They may not need it, but it does much to give them an air of success, which is always good for pulling in new business. Though this is something that is quite handy, it doesn’t have to cost very much, and can leave a good impression on anyone. As a customer, having a call answered by a real person no matter what the reason is actually something that I appreciate and it makes me feel that I am important to the company or person I am calling. I’m sure many others feel the same.




Summary
Answering services are not as popular as before with the invention of answer machines. They remain popular with new businesses as most customers would like to talk to a real person instead of a machine and they feel this is a good service worth the expense. Customers tend to agree!
